Weigh in of 214.4 at end of 16:8 fast. Did an hour of moderate weight training. Need to get some help on how to log that in FS. I'm afraid I might be overestimating the calorie burn. Will do some research. Will eat moderately but enough today. Will do a low cal adjustment day tomorrow if needed. Looks like anywhere from 6 to 12 inches of snow heading our way tomorrow. Might be teleworking this week!

there's an interesting site that tells you calorie burn according to heart rate, you might want to look there http://www.calories-calculator.net/Calories_Burned_By_Heart_Rate.html but that said, moderate weight training's impact on your metabolism lasts about 36 hours so it's really hard to estimate, I just take the highest count from the heart rate and add 10%, it seems to work for me good luck finding what works for you

Yeh... that snow is scary. We only ended up getting about 5 inches from it. But the forecasters were threatening that we could get 13. Anyway, nice work, Bill.

Lotuslandjoe made a good point. You will continue to rip calories long after your weight training session. It is difficult to calculate because of the rests between sets. I'll do some research myself. Be safe!

Bill, it's very subjective, however I've found that the easiest and most reasonably accurate formula is this: - Weigh yourself immediately prior to your weight training. - Time your weight training including the time between reps. - Multiply your weight in pounds times your time in minutes times the intensity factor. Intensity factors that I use are .027 for moderate intensity and .039 for relatively high intensity. There are higher intensity factors, but those are for professional body builders. So if you weigh 212.4 lbs and workout at moderate intensity for 43 minutes, you would multiply 212.4 x 43 x .027 for a total of 246 calories burned.

Wow TX - those numbers should make it to our geeks by numbers groups.

Don't know if you enjoy working from home or not, Bill. I personally love it. I hope you do too, and then you'll have a GREAT day tomorrow! Hah! Either way, stay safe.

I have heard many say that the FS exercise diary is not very accurate. With your resources, I am sure you will come up with a better system. Enjoy your snow day!
