I have struggled with my weight almost my entire adult life, fluctuating by as much as 22kg. As a former athlete and personal trainer (before it became trendy), I have no problem losing weight, but I am yet to find the secret to maintenance at the lower weight. I love bread (with real butter) and chocolate and any other sweet food you can name.

A Doctor friend said that you need to maintain a change in lifestyle for two tears, for it to become habit. So four weeks ago I wrote down some goals (something I never do) and what I would do to achieve those goals over 3 months, 6 months, 12 months and 24 months.

I am now four weeks in and have achieved the three month goals already, so hope that this time I can make it to two years and make this change permanent.
