Ive not weighed myself this many times in a row but I was curious to see if there would be a difference between my weight at Drs and my weight at home. There was a .6 lb difference in my favor. I think Storms was right, it was probably the heavier clothes/ shoes and the fact I had eaten breakfast before I got weighed. Whatever, I'll take it!!👍

I usually get morning doctor appointments. I weigh myself first thing in the morning, then after I get dressed and with shoes on I weigh again to see how much the clothes adds to my weight. Usually at least 2 pounds. I don't eat or drink anything before the appointment because I want my doctor to see the lowest weight possible. Then I compare the doctor's weight with my weight at home. Do I have OCD? Sounds like it, right?

You guys—- these are machine, they will probably never read the same weight. Stop dwelling on this issue— you are overthinking it. In the ER we weighed EVERYBODY and took 1 pound off for women’s clothing and shoes and 2 pounds for men. That is as close as you can realistically get.

Just goes to show you how much 1-2 pounds bothers some of us Kenna. Silly but true.

Kenna, you are right. I usually weigh myself about once week or even longer sometimes...I just got caught up in it this week for various reasons. I'll get back to my regular weigh ins now.💜

I always assume a couple of pounds more at the doctor's office because of clothes & shoes.

I don’t really put much thought into the number on the scale at the Dr. office. I step on that scale once, maybe twice a year. The only time it ever gave me heartburn was the years of my life I carried so much extra weight and I wasn’t weighing myself at home or giving a crap about what I ate.

Shirl, Me too. I was just curious. 💜 Honeybuns, I worry about my weight if I start weighing too often. I'm back to where I pay attention but don't obsess.

Especially the eating and drinking will affect your weight. I was told before I eat or drink 1st thing in the morning in my “bday” suit! And after bowel mvt, if possible.

Remember, you have 26 feet of bowel. If you are not routinely fully evacuating your bowel you will have varying weights. Weight fluctuation is not always water, hormones, auto immune inflammation—- it is often a bowel full of shit. Many of you have a way of eating that is not conducive to good bowel function.

There is nothing wrong with weighing whenever you want to, some people need to keep track of their weight because they might have heart disease and may be on water pills like , lasix or aldactone. It’s the obsession that is not good. It’s that destructive thought process that causes anxiety and depression over a .2 lb weight gain when you haven’t had a decent BM in 2 days. THINK, THINK, THINK
