Woke at 212.8, down 1.4 from yesterday. Watched a very interesting video by Dr. Jason Fung yesterday (https://intensivedietarymanagement.com/). Basically proposing fasting and low carb, two things I’ve been moving towards. But not so much CICO. I may try to engineer my schedule more towards 5/2 IF instead of 16:8. Will do that experiment in May. Plan to eat about 925 a day today and tomorrow to get back on track.

I watched the entire 6 part series from Dr. Fung, very interesting. I moved my meals around this week to see if I could tease myself past this 220 mark I can't seem to get past, makes me think this may be my new set point if you go by how he tells it.

Hey Bill...I'm hoping this is encouragement: sure it would be nice to lose 5 to 10 pounds a month again...but for you, me and others that's not going to happen without losing a lot of muscle too....remember "gold & feathers". ...now it's burn the fat, keep the muscle...you're posting great intake and activity numbers. ..in my opinion that's as important as the scale (especially with your H2O weight swings). Remember at our age, very important..."gold & feathers"! Have a great week ahead!!!

The six part series is a lecture, it's got quite a bit of medical history in it but for me it was quite interesting. He arrived at the same conclusion I did, just by a different means. I was looking at all of the medical advice we have been given for the past 50 years and then looked at the general health of the population and asked......what changed? I can see it, and I can't understand why everyone can't :)

I'm thinking I've lost a bit of upper body muscle since my back " incident" mid Feb, not a lot but noticeable to me...legs are still REAL solid, Maybe we both should go LCHF for a month and see what happens? Ah crap, who am I kidding, I know I'd fold up like a cheap tent...I just doesn't see how I could make it work :( It would be sure fun to try though...hmmm.

Bill, you might want to get Dr. Jason Fung's brand new book, "The Obesity Code". The man is so smart. I haven't read it through yet but it is on my shelf to read soon. I am reading "The Wild Man Diet" by Able James right now. I really like the philosophy of this one and the food. Wishing you much success with this new plan. :o)

Personally I think 5:2 is a very good approach, I've done a fair amount of reading on it. Wishing you success with it.

Bill we're thinking somewhat similar in plans, I'm going back to 5:2 also with fasting on the two days hopefully till dinner. Not sure if I'll hit the 24 hour mark or not and I'm thinking of bumping up calories by 300 on the days preceeding the low calorie ones to help getting through it, then adjusting on the other 3 normal days.
