Don't usually record full Tanita waking numbers but I wanted to capture the amazing amount of water weight gain for my records. Second day of eating way above RDI and off the charts on carbs. Gained two more pounds, but more importantly, the water content (see muscle and bone mass) is amazingly high. I calculate 12.7 additional pounds of water, so I'm actually at about 202 pounds of actual weight. That means I gained an 'actual' four pounds over the weekend (which is born out by my body fat lbs. going from 27.2 to 31.2 today). Will fast until dinner (just MCITs, coffee, and some water with protein powder after my 16:8 fast). Will start to purge the water over the next week.
Forgot to consider that my daughter is in town this week before heading to college next weekend, so will be going out to eat probably nightly. Will add to the challenge a bit. Will be eating pretty low calories for the last week of the month as I attempt to get back to my August 1840 average daily calorie goal.
Here are the 8/18/14 Tanita Numbers (waking weigh in):
Weight - 215.4 Goal Weight (10% BF) - 204.7 Total body fat % - 14.5 Total body fat lbs. - 31.2 Total body water % - 63.9 Visceral fat rating - 9 Muscle mass lbs. - 175.2 Physique rating - 6 Bone mass lbs. - 9.0 Daily calories: 4327 (RDI 2431) Metabolic age - 18

So we'll be watching it go down. Wondering if you entered all the food you ate. Might sneak over and give it a look. But, we know you'll get rid of it.

Oh, what a drag, Draglist. I so feel your pain. It's like looking to a mirror of myself a month ago. I wonder if you could be insulin resistant like I am? Next time you go in for a check-up or blood work, ask your doctor to run the LP-IR score (not sure if that is part of a bigger test?). Now that I'm aware of it and see how much weight you and I gain from such brief departures from clean eating, it makes me suspect you may be in my same boat.

I had no idea you were insulin resistant or that you were managing Type 2, Draglist. Kudos to you for getting it under control with all that hard work! Now it explains so much in terms of how you and I gain weight and water after one day of a few excess calories (okay, even 3000 excess), especially carbs. I know other people who eat big on game day and gain 2 pounds, maybe. Anyhow, you are doing great getting back on track. Have fun with your daughter. There will be plenty of time to correct and do your impression of a hamster on your treadmill in the weeks to come. I'm rooting for you.
