So, two days on the DASH diet and I'm already seeing an improvement in the BP. The top/systolic number is down around 120 for two readings; unfortunately the bottom/dystolic number is still up around 89. I don't exactly know what that means - there's more pressure when the heart relaxes? What could cause this? I had trouble going to sleep last night 'cause the DH's insulin pump kept going off for some reason. He wasn't even wearing it??? So I complained and he finally took it into another room. Really could use more sleep, yeah I'll work on that. I did manage to get in a walk yesterday, not a run but at least I walked, total of 55 minutes. Could explain the lb. lost. Getting sodium down to 1500mg is going to be HARD! I followed the diet very closely yesterday & still hit around 2200mg, hmmm:(
