I keep forgetting to change the "official" weight lately, doesn't really matter. my nutritionist told me yesterday she's taking six weeks off to assess whether she wants to keep working where she is, she definitely didn't have to share that level of detail, but I guess it means I need to be prepared for her to quit. we're all under a ton of stress all the time, so I get it. we're friends, so I know she'll let me know what's going on.
Hogan got cleared to take five minute walks from the vet today. Still on meds, so he's subdued, but I'm hopeful we're making progress. who could have know that my propensity to injure myself would come in handy as I have a pretty good realization of just how long it takes a body to truly heal. this doesn't mean we're out of the woods yet, we'll see how it goes and see what the next steps are. going from 3-5 miles down to 5 minutes is crazy, but hey, it's been six weeks and I'm hopeful he's healing and come back to 90%. I think the canyons and any jumping are over. that's fine. was too hard for Sadie, too. we'll just adjust and keep on sidewalks.
Took a couple super short walks yesterday, like .5 miles, but when you don't walk at all the watch is ecstatic that you left the house at all. noted. I've been getting some other total body stuff in there, so blob is down, muscle is holding and that's exactly what I wanted to do anyways, so yay.
work is work, think I'm taking some serious time off tomorrow to think. onwards.

yeah, they become such a constant in our lives and it's very unsettling when they're suddenly not there anymore. going to be a huge adjustment for their family.

Shir, I think I’m best off to stay put in the current environment. I work my butt off, but it’s stable and I get to work from home. So while there are flashes of defiance, I’ll probably stay.

I'm still not used to buster being gone. (I mean I mostly am...I'm not bat shit crazy. There's just those times still where I wait for the bark when he hears me on the porch.) yay for 5 minutes walks!! ❤️ was your friend surprised at the dog passing away? Or was it not well for a bit?

the pup that passed was a 17 year old beagle, so it wasn't a surprise, it was a dimming of the light until it went out. he just stopping being in the kitchen after coming inside. thing is, the guy had him all of his adult life, including through two deployments, so it's a huge loss for him.

so sad to hear about your friend's dog. I always like to have multiple pets so when I lose one, I still have another 1 or 2 (or 3 or 4) pets that need me to take care of them. Glad Hogan is getting some short walks. Poor Bobby is walking much less than he would like because of MY problems. I took him for 2 15 minute walks yesterday because the weather was so nice and cool. Then I had leg pain all night so today I took a 13 minute walk and will see how I feel tonight.
