Happy Friday, made it through the night no worse for the wear. Ran treadmill last night (mix of walk/run) for 45 minutes after shot, added salt to my water, used my massager on my arm. So far, so good. Slight headache, no fever, plan to push through as hard as I can. Even though work is crazy, it "looks" like I'm not there so I can hopefully get some stuff done without interruption.

Going to talk a little about treadmill to preserve my stats. I have knee issues and I'm fairly good at managing them, so I can run as long as it's on an incline. Downhills are no go. Why treadmill is good can be all uphill. I have a hard time getting my heart rate up enough these days unless I flat out run. Great problem to have. It's way harder to burn enough calories compared to swimming. 45 minutes, average heart rate was 128, 6.3 METs. I used some adorable 1 lb weights on the walking to increase the effort, put my incline 1-2 more than the class on each segment, but what it comes down to is that I'm going to have to teach myself how to actually run in my archaic condition if I want it to be effective. If I'm going to put in the effort, I want it to be effective.

All that aside, a couple weeks ago in one of my nighttime wanderings, someone put out a Vornado stand fan with "free" on it and I hauled that baby on my back almost a mile in the dark with three dogs leading the way. I'm sure we looked like weirdos. That said, it is awesome, and fits perfectly in front of the treadmill to blow a steady stream of air on me way better than the wimpy one I was using. Trade off on personal dignity on what ended up being an epic score. Might buy another one for my office at some point, it's that much better.

I'm up a little this morning, might be the salt in my water, might be the chocolate, might be nothing. I ordered probiotic dark chocolate this time and it is amazing. It has fiber. But it's fantastic. I allow myself 4-6 pieces a day, (I try to stick with 4 or less and do most of the time) I log them all, and I made the last package last exactly as long as I planned, so it's not a danger. 25 cals per piece. Keeps my other cravings away. It's what works for me and if it keeps the gut issues at bay for another couple of years, win win.

Muscle held its own, blob down a tiny notch. Good enough.

Onwards!
