Longer walk last night, no swim. How to explain the loss; not eating a ton, not eating particularly well either. I have felt better the last couple of days, but you can see I'm losing muscle over the last week, and water. Anyone who thinks swimming is only cardio, look at the muscle loss when I'm not doing it. That probably is contributing to the losses as well, not swimming, not as hungry.

We've been walking later in the evening so I'm trying to eat before or eat way less before bed. It's an interesting experiment. Am I actually losing bone density? No, I'm still walking with the dogs and lifting as much stuff up around the house as before. Things will normalize, it's just interesting fluctuations and I'm fascinated. I guess I should look back at my macros for the week (I never look at them) and see if there are any patterns. Will start working on the muscle immediately. I fought too hard for that to lose it. I want to be kicking ass in my eighties and still taking names in my nineties. Plenty of time for all that, but the point is that I need to build and retain muscle while I still can. Same with bone density. We are in a unique position in history (understatement of the century on many other levels) to both know and understand the contributing health factors that improve or maintain one's quality of life as we get older. If you wait until retirement, it might be too late to achieve the quality of life that I want to have then. I had another former boss pass away this week, that's three now. All too young. That's too many. I'm in a highly competitive, high stress field, I need to remember that always and make sure to leave it at the office at the end of the day. I need to make sure that there is an end of the day, and I need to make sure that I put myself first for myself and the ones that I love. Also trying to gently teach mom healthier habits. She's walking the dog daily, so she's getting the movement in, but she eats crap compared to when I was growing up. Not sure what happened there. Guess I'll have her shop for me again this weekend and hope she picks up on some cues.

Found a garden surprise yesterday, these are from a plant someone gave my grandmother over a decade ago. More and more blooms each year. I need to trim back the jasmine again this weekend, it's out of control.

Happy Friday! Head down, press on!
