Did you like Jimmy John's? I am curious as they are not rated very well here - tons of 1 star ratings. To me this sandwich looks kind of awful. LOL. Jimmy John's originated in central Illinois, a monetary gift from the owner's Big Daddy, so we have one here, of course. Lots of people in Illinois love it. Not me. The bread is the best part. I think the meat is skimpy unless you get double meat. A friend of mine swears by the low carb double meat option. J.J. puts lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo on almost all of their sandwiches and offer few other toppings. They offer onions. I had no idea they had cucumbers. They say you can have their wonderful peppers if you ask. I asked but didn't get them. I don't know anyone who ever did. I don't eat tomatoes or mayo. And with their history of e.coli and the owners elephant killing I'm not really into them. I like them less than any of the other Sub shops I have been too. I'm curious of your honest review as I think many places must have better franchises. Maybe they are better where you are.

Well, my son manages the one in our town so I'm sort of partial. I usually don't get the bread, but this was great.

Ours here has had complaints from day one. In our area chain restaurants are often substandard. We have loved restaurants in the Metroeast St. Louis area and then we get a franchise here and they are not the same. Our Culver's is not as good. A lot of our fast food places are dingy and dirty. A lot of the complaints About J.J. are regarding the service. They do have great bread. And their meat is supposed to be better quality too.
I might try a J.J. somewhere else as some of their sandwiches appeal to me on paper. Thanks for replying. I am a very curious person. (Actually mom said I was a P.I.T.A. - whatever. LOL)

I try not to eat processed meat so I like the idea of tuna or even egg salad. When I visited my niece in Washington we went to a local place for subs and I got a tuna fish egg salad combo. Pretty good. I've never seen a Jimmy John's but think there are a couple within an hour or so.
