Today, I rediscovered TENS for my lower back spasms. I had used one years ago in PT for another injury, but it's been years. I haven't said a whole lot about it, I have been in serious pain the last week, enough that I wasn't even up to walking the dogs, sitting or laying down. I went to Target for aspercreme/lidocaine, ended up buying the TENS device and not the cream. Came home, put it on my back and the spasm have seriously ceased almost immediately. The unit I got was $40 and made by OMRON with reusable pads and it takes 2 AAA batteries. I can't even begin to tell you what a relief. I've been going to bed terrified that I can't get up quickly in an emergency and I've been telling BF where I am in case something happens and I can't get up. Now, as I understand it, people either respond or they don't. But for $40, I'm hopefully going to be able to ease off on the pain relievers and let my body heal. Not walking or swimming tonight, but will do more gentle stuff. Just wanted to put this out into the universe in case it can help anyone else. Tons on the internet if you want to look it up. There are more clinical devices on Amazon and Woot ($29) but I wanted something now and this is half the price of the massage I was considering as well.

I don't know why pic isn't loading, but there are a few Bob & Brad videos on YouTube and you can find it on the general web as well. I'm sure I overpaid for this simple one I got at Target, but I don't care, I finally quit hurting.

I am so glad you are finding some relief! And this actually reminds me to encourage my daughter to try hers again. She has had some success with headaches having it on her neck. She sometimes used to attache the pads and use them intermittently all day. It didn't seem to work as well after a while, but maybe it could help right now. I'm going to see. Maybe we need a new one. Take care of yourself! Take your time! ❤️🤗🙏

So glad it is helping! Years ago prior to a back surgery my PT guy would have me hang in the deep end of the pool with flotation pads under my arms for about 30-40 min.. It helped enormously. Is your pool deep enough that you could try that? Maybe with some relaxing music thru your ear pods 🌹

Rainey, i can get in the pool, but getting out by myself was too scary. It was that twist of lifting my leg up and over the edge. I did it twice and it was just too much.

Omg the TENS machine is awesome! I’m sensitive to it with my neck, but it works so good. Loved it on my lumbar 🙌🤗 I’m happy it’s helping you!!!! Pain is awful 💜💚

Oh,I'm sorry to hear that. There were stairs in the pool I used which made it easy to get in and out. Maybe after you heal a little more.
