Swam and then walked late this evening. Ran into coyotes, first time in awhile that I had to yell at them like a maniac in the middle of the street.

Coyotes you gotta chase away? My kind of place! Give them a round! Some scoff at the impact of Coyotes on the subdivisions around EVERY populated area. Don’t believe me? Put food scraps out on a regular basis an set up a motion camera. First hits will be local cats etc. then the cats will disappear. Then Coyotes will come in...... don’t trust them especially in groups!

Even though I live in a city, we are surrounded by canyons. I'm not a coyote hater because they eat rats. But I don't like them playing games and trying to get my older dog. We ran into the scout first and the pack came up around us. Thankfully, I have plenty of experience w/hazing techniques and it went nowhere. I know Hogan would protect his pack because he's done it before when we've been attacked by loose dogs, but I don't want to test it outnumbered four to three. I'm going to put my storm whistle on a lanyard if I go that late again.
