Next day edit. This was a box of shrimp scampi I snagged on sale. I was horrified when I took the shrimp out to find that they were tiny shrimp literally frozen inside a case of butter, wine and spices. The garlic did smell amazing, but when I put my dinner together, I made sure to pick the shrimp out and left most of the “sauce”. When I weighed the solidified remnants this morning, it was 38g of fat that had coated 9 tiny shrimp. Never again. I won’t toss the rest of the package, but I will not make it again without a package of plain shrimp on hand to dilute it. Will probably still leave the sauce in the pan, TBH, because that much fat will make me sick to my stomach at least. It’s like eating 1/4 stick of butter. Gross.
