Continuing the downward trend bit by bit! Tomorrow I go for my 3 month diabeetus check-up... a little anxious to see how it pans out as I've rollercoastered a bit... fasting sugars were 98 today on my home meter.
I've continued intermittent fasting... now doing 2 a week. 18-24. hrs long each time. I'm wanting to go from diabetic recommendations for low carb to full on keto... but I'm not sure how well that will go with my living situation & the way food is shared... I will have to discuss it with my brother & SIL...
My other concern is that my cholesterol is already high & I'm avoiding going on a statin but my doc is pushing for it. I'm afraid she's not going to support a HFLC WOE... we shall see.
Lastly, I'm still wondering if anyone takes Metformin & does IF? If so... do you continue taking your doses during a fast? Or skip the dose as it should be taken with food? Does anyone have experience with this?

Go to the Doc prepared, bring documentation HFLC can be done if your have type 2.
I came off metformin after losing 40 lbs. I wouldn't skip a dose during fasting. Ask your doc! Good luck!

Yeah, I'd avoid the statins as much as possible and do research into lowering cholesterol naturally, especially looking at some of the possible risks to that type of medication! Hoping your checkup goes well! :)

@8Patty I am so looking forward to the day when I can be med free again! You give me hope! And thank you for your take on the Metformin/IF question! I was being silly by not taking it during my fasting periods! I talked to my doc & she is putting me on the extended release Metformin... it should even things out a bit!

@Meadow Mist it went great! Way better than I anticipated! She listened to me & supported my choice to not go on any stations. After my last visit 3 months ago I was considering switching docs... I didn't feel like she listened to me or supported me advocating for myself... but this time was a complete 180! I am happy I gave us another try! I'm so pleased!
