CarbAbuser's Notizen, 14 Feb 21

Trying to up my fiber to keep everything moving. The only problem is the extra carbs. If my carbs are too high I drink a bit of MCT oil... not my fave thing to do. They claim it's tasteless, but there's a taste. I just can't pinpoint what it is. It's not coconut, really wish it was. Oh well.

Happy Valentine's Day to all.

Nice drop

Well done! Great drop. Leafy green vegetables like spinach and kale would be my suggestion.

Did it work? Do you like chia? not too many carbs... or flax....

@Liv - the MCT oil works, like greasing a pig, lol. I just bought some chia, haven't tried it yet. I make flaxseed 1 minute muffins every other day now. LOVE them. Reminds me of the bran muffins Mom used to make. They are the extra carbs, sadly. @CC - I eat baby spinach & spring mix salads, but I've never been fond of veggies... still working on getting them in (and down 🤢)

I do not like flax for constipation if I am already constipated. If it is bad I would use mineral oil but that is rare. I really become fond of the chia seeds. You can buy them at a very good price at costco

My Costco order came in Friday: chia, flaxseed & coconut oil. Up until December, I'd rarely get constipated, but I have IBS, so it's possible it has moved from IBS-d to IBS-c. Soon, I'll need to put in an Amazon order for more MCT oil.

Love your Costco order. I have never bought MCT... what do you do with it?

@lchfjo - i have IBS-c that causes major pounds of weight fluctuations depending on whether my meds are working or im blocked. Feels like ive tried almost every remedy with no real solution. What is MCT oil?

@Dsegre -- MCT oil is medium chain triglyceride oil made from coconuts (usually, at least mine is). It's a fat that is absorbed quickly, in essence to help fuel the body. It also helps get into ketosis quicker. ****** HOWEVER ****** it can cause *major* diarrhea (or explosive pants as one person called it, lol) if you take too much. Start with a 1/4tsp and work your way up.

@Liv - I drink it. Usually 2 Tbsp. Well I say drink... gag it back. It's similar to mineral oil. Some people use it in their recipes or in bulletproof coffee (coffee blitzed with butter or oil). I don't drink coffee, and I don't dare put it in recipes, since hubby eats the same meals.

Thanks for the MCT oil info 😊

@mouffette, if I could drink coffee, I would definitely add my MCT oil to it. The taste alone is blech. Not gross, just blech.

Lol Lchfjo! I like that "greasing a pig"! Hilarious! One way to get those greens you hate is to juice them with grapes. It will still look green but the grapes are the predominant flavor. I guess that will only work if you like grapes though! I put other fruit in too though. Apples are a good one that helps get things moving!

I love grapes, but can't eat them on Keto. I eat berries, but would have never thought about juicing greens and fruits.
