Day 2 of a planned 5 day 'no solid food fast'

Blood sugar 77 mg/dL

👍🏾 Did I keep my net carbs below 10? Yes!
👍🏾 Did I keep my protein below 90g? Yes!
👍🏾Is my morning blood sugar in the 70s? Yes!

💥 Did I GAIN 3lbs! Yes!

As planned I started the day off with a 🏃🏾 run. I intended to only drink Green Tea during the day, but, I broke down and drank a Miso soup (but, NO Soy Sauce!).

At night, I had my usual Vanilla protein shake at night and then had another one because I felt sorry for myself having to stay up late to rework my code for my presentation. I weighted myself before I went to bed and I was up 3lbs. When I woke up I was the same.

🤯 Why did I gain 3lbs? I-Have-No-Idea. Do I care? Not really. I stuck to my eating plan. My body looks GREAT (my stomach is practically flat at this point). I'm not going to overthink it 🧠.

🏋🏾 Today is a lifting day so I will allow myself protein drinks all day. Normally, this would not be a weight loss day because I know from experience my body will burn excess protein like it would carbs. However, this 3lbs of 'phantom weight' has got to return to whereever it came from so I could still lose...

body shape is so much more important than weight on the scale. congrats on the flat belly! a good weekend of lower carb and your dedication seems to be working wonders. isn't your blood sugar a little low for morning?? doing a lot of reading lately for myself

@Keilin_4 - I agree that the massive eating over the weekend 'has come home' :) Also, the 'low carb' foods tend to 'hit me' a few days after eating them.

And yes that flat belly is a great! 😀 It's my motivation to not messing up my diet , when I having a bad day, think about it before you eat 😉

@baskington - For me, a day after consuming less than 10 net carbs, a 77 reading is normal. I am in 'perfect mode' right now (Oh! the irony!). Yes, both @PrincessValerie and I are fascinated by our flat stomachs :) I think hitting the gym 3 times a week has a lot to do with it... :) I hope YOU have a good day today :)

Wow 3lbs is disheartening! That big of a gain, I'd guess your scale is going screwy. Did you get back on it a few times? I weighed myself last night and I was up 4lbs! But this morning (after peeing 3 times between 3am and 6:30am) I was down .6 from yesterday! So maybe just go pee LOL

@CrashtestDawnie - I really am ok with the gain because I am going to be 'under stress' for the next week (having to stay up late, ect.) so not going on an eating bender is my main concern. Yesterday was a good day :) You take care. Please be patient with yourself. You have done far better than most people with your diet.

being in perfect mode is a good thing! flat belly is a good thing too, water weight is no biggy and will be gone in no time as long as you don't go crazy. stress is a hard thing to deal with but you got this!

Stress related to the presentation could make the liver produce extra glucose to refill glycogen, in prep for this 'fight'. If this weight and more drop after the event, this could be it.
